Dr Eden Faulkner

Director, Mixed Practice Veterinarian

eden@highlandsmobilevet.com.au

Dr Eden grew up on the Far South Coast of NSW where her love of animals started with a Labrador named Bindi. After graduating from James Cook University in Townsville, she moved to a vet clinic in SEQ where she worked with horses, dogs, cats, alpacas, cattle, goats, chickens, you name it! During her time there she grew a love for mobile veterinary work which brought her to return to the tropics and begin working and managing a 100% mobile veterinary service.
In search of a cooler climate, she relocated to NSW in 2023 with her partner James, and founded the Highlands Mobile Vet to continue her love of servicing patients in the comfort of their owner home. Dr Eden aims to provide stress free, personal and quality veterinary care to all animals in the New England region.
In 2021 Dr Eden completed the Level 1 Equine Dentistry Course and continues to regularly attend seminars on small animal dermatology and equine practice. She has a keen interest in canine medicine, equine dentistry and preventative health care. She also prides herself in providing a professional, personal and peaceful euthanasia service to pet owners.
Dr Eden's fur family includes; Sage the Gordon Setter, Finn the Cocker Spaniel, Lena & Aries who are off the track thoroughbreds, and a colourful flock of chickens. If not with them, in her free time she’ll be pottering around her garden, working on the work trailer, or going for a horse ride or hike with James.

Dr James graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from James Cook University in Townsville and returned to his home state Victoria for his first job, which was for a mixed practice veterinary clinic that had a large focus on dairy cattle. There he developed skills in cattle abdominal and emergency surgery, cattle reproduction and pregnancy testing, herd health management, and lameness consultations, in addition to the odd small animal and equine consult.

After a few years of general practice, he decided to locum in various clinics throughout Australia. He was also the supervising veterinarian on multiple cattle export boats and is heavily involved in export welfare reforms.

In July 2023 he moved to the New England with Dr Eden and has been travelling to and from Tasmania as the lead cattle veterinarian for a dairy based veterinary clinic in Smithton. He is now permanently based in the New England and ready to provide a high level of veterinary care for cattle properties in the area with a focus on optimising herd health and production.

In his spare time Dr James enjoys cooking, camping, fishing, hunting and photography.
